An Indian army convoy makes its way towards Kargil through Zojila pass on May 13, 2002. Indian troops used the highway to reach the border district of Kargil, where a bitter border conflict between India and Pakistan took place in 1999, after the road was reopened. Zojila pass, one of India's highest at 3.530m, is covered in snow every year for six months. (AFP)
